Emotional Connection

DTP’s foundational program is to have people learn to identify their emotional triggers, experience the feelings that come from these emotional triggers, to process through the feelings and to use these emotional experiences to make better decisions. We know when you are able to do this, you build more meaningful relationships, and are more successful in your professional and personal interactions.

Building the skills and abilities to process through feelings and increase your emotional intelligence requires systematic practice and creative experiences, which allows you to know what you are doing or not doing to be emotionally connected to yourself and others. Research has shown over, and over again emotional competencies are TWICE as important as excellence in pure intellect or experience.

Our DTP team has significant years of experience, and we lead you through exercises, assessments, and articles that empower you to know what it takes to have a high emotional quotient. With the research we have done with habitual patterns, we can have as you take a short assessment, and you will have a beginning knowledge about the behaviors you are doing that prevent you from being emotionally connected. You can then take the more detailed Habitual Patterns Assessment to have greater knowledge and experience how to change yourself to be more emotionally connected.

Habitual Patterns

DTP’s comprehensive, one-of-a-kind assessment of 17 different habitual pattern groups reveals a person’s patterns in a detailed, written report. If you have felt frustrated with making lasting changes and desire a way to make lasting improvements, this self-assessment can help. The assessment provides the knowledge a person needs to make significant changes in their own behavior and in their ways of interacting with others. Our coaches are skilled at showing the interrelationship of the habitual groups and can explain how they interact and reinforce one another in negative ways. We also explain how the habits that are effective in your life can help make the changes you desire.

For those of you who have taken the Leadership Practices Inventory (LPI) , taking the Habitual Patterns Assessment gives you a better understanding of your LPI scores. When you know your habitual patterns, how to change them, how they affect your work, and how to effectively lead others, you have the ability to explore deep emotional experiences with diversity and social responsibility.

We know that leadership is a relationship and the first place to look is within yourself. We offer the Leadership Practices Inventory® (LPI), a thoroughly research, culturally non biased 360 assessment to rank how frequently you demonstrate 30 leadership behaviors. The LPI has a pre- and post- assessment which allows you to see how you have used the knowledge you received in your training.

We are aware people cannot be effective leaders if they do not know how to lead themselves. When the LPI is combined with DTP’s Habitual Patterns Assessment and Understanding Emotional Connection, you can fully understand yourself, be emotionally connected to yourself and others and be a more effective leader.
