My years as an entrepreneur and how my father influenced me that lead me to being a business owner was what I shared in the last blog. In this one I want to tell you more about a few of my ideas that have brought me success and created meaningful and long term relationships with clients.

The Value of Being Particular

I have been told that being particular indicates I have good taste. Now, being to particular can lead to not being satisfied with my choices of different aspects of my life as a business owner and in my personal relationships. I am aware today how my particular preferences are benefit to myself and to my clients.

As a business owner, I have high standards for the work that my business partners and I do for our clients. I have learned over the years that my preferences can lead to powerful outcomes, and I have gotten more acceptance of how we get the job done, if it leads to quality work. That allows me to be flexible and appreciate how our team works together. Our leadership programs and the other seven areas of services we provide to our clients bring significant change and success to our clients. Check out us at www.dtpleadership.com.) My work is fun to do, since I get to contribute to, see the changes in, and watch our clients move to other levels of accomplishment.

Honesty and Humility as Business Foundations

Honesty and humility are especially important to me. If I am honest with my clients, and show them the benefits they will receive from the work we can do together then a change occurs. Honesty leads to integrity, which is particularly important to me, and it is important to show my clients how their inconsistent behaviors as an owner prevent them from having true integrity.

Consistency and Accountability

Responsibility is being able to own what I do, learn from my mistakes and change my behavior. When I know the right things to do, and I consistently do the right things then I have integrity. One of the things that my clients say to me is I can count on you, since your are consistent with addressing what I need to hear, and talking about how I can adjust what I am doing to be integrity with myself.

The Power of Reflection

At the end of the day is to go over what I have done, that is helpful, and what do I need to change. If I need to apologize for something I have done that needs changing, I have three steps I use to do the apology: 1. Own what I did what was not helpful, 2. Tell how I feel about what I did and show remorse, and 3. Name what I will do differently. Through this process, I can enter each day with a clean slate, determine what I need for the day, and feel the specialness of the world I return to each day.

Conclusion:

As I reflect on my journey as a business owner, I realize that the principles of being particular, maintaining integrity, and practicing daily reflection have been key to my success. These values have helped me cultivate meaningful relationships with clients and create lasting impact in their lives and businesses. By holding myself accountable and consistently striving for excellence, I have built a foundation of trust that allows my business to thrive. I encourage you to reflect on your own practices, embrace honesty and humility, and commit to the small adjustments that can lead to long-term success.
